Back to the Bumpy Road
Well, I was right to be apprehensive. Things are only just getting back to some kind of normal. Kind of scary since he has been home for five months now. But to make matters worse, two weeks after his return, we got it into our heads to sell our house and move into a bigger home.
So on top of the turmoil that his return from Kuwait brought with it, my entire house got turned into a museum. The majority of our belongings got packed away in a frenzy to make our listing deadline. Then I had to develop a whole new routine with the kids to accommodate the drop-of-a-hat escapes we kept having to make whenever someone came to look at the house.
I am happy that it all went so well, the house sold and we moved into a larger home, but I would have been a lot less stressed out if I hadn’t had to deal with all this upheaval by myself.
Yes, shortly after he returned from Kuwait, he went back to his original command, and they are preparing for their next deployment, which means a lot of underway time.
I know that he has no idea of the true amount of effort that selling the house and planning for the move really took me. Let’s just say that I am totally ready for his next deployment. I think I will handle his absence with grace and aplomb.
