Holding on for Dear Life
I get songs stuck in my head. My mental radio is currently stuck on this song. I hear it in the morning, I hear it at night. I hear it when I am driving, and especially when I am at work, stuck in the maudlin repetitiveness of my work-study job.
I have conflicting theories as to why, but in the meantime, I will play it on full blast every chance I get until I work it out of my system, or until whatever has triggered this has passed.
If you want to know what I was holding on through, start here:
- Passive Aggressive — on the kind of damage that’s harder to name
- Krakatoa on the Inside — An Ode to the Death of My Marriage — what the marriage actually looked like from the inside
- Alcohol, Cocktails and Other Adult Band-aids — what the years before leaving looked like
- Love is Dead — Casualty of the Divorce — the emotional aftermath
- Relationships Bite: Am I Doomed? — the post-divorce reckoning with love
- To Be or Not to Be Friends with the Ex — where it all landed
