It all adds up.
My patience is finite, and its limits are being tested today. First, my son loses his mind the instant he happens to overhear me say that he will be able to go to a friend’s house to play as soon as he is done with his math…
So how is it that math skills that he possessed yesterday are suddenly non-existent as he proceeds to add 25 cents and 25 cents to get 26 cents? He then looks at me expectantly like “isn’t that correct?”. WTF?
As a result, I called back my neighbor, to let her know that my son would not be making it to her house to play because I have to re-teach him the fundamentals of math. This announcement (is there no privacy in my home?!) once overheard set him off into crying fits. Holding onto his midsection like he was in pain, and arching himself like he was being attacked. It was most disconcerting and highly irritating.
So I grabbed my video camera, so I could capture on film the lunacy that was my son in time out. Since most of the time, I get the feeling that my husband thinks I exaggerate their condition when I tell him how unbelievably they behave some of the time, I should have thought to capture their antics on film sooner. As it is, he is due back home in a week and it’s mostly pointless now. All the really dramatic stuff has already happened, much to my dismay.

I love it! You are so right, they know what 2+2 is one day and the next the answer is not 4. Maybe I should whip the video camera out myself. My husband is miliary and when he is away, he thinks I exaggerate the way these kids act as times. Anyway, loved it!
