Vice Device
I have a vice. It’s called reading. I like to read way too much, and in result sometimes my children pay the price. Today my son paid the price for the fact that I went to bed much to late. I couldn’t fall asleep after I stayed up late reading, so I was on the computer until much later. It all adds up.
My patience is finite, and its limits are being tested today. First, my son loses his mind the instant he happens to overhear me say that he will be able to go to a friend’s house to play as soon as he is done with his math… So how is it that math skills that he possessed yesterday are suddenly non-existent as he proceeds to add 25 cents and 25 cents to get 26 cents? He then looks at me expectantly like “isn’t that correct?”. WTF?

Second Thoughts…
I confess to a weakness of spirit. Sometimes I find myself dwelling on the possibilities of a life with different choices. I wonder if I settled and cut myself off from different avenues of adventure and single living.

Vegas has better odds than my life. I thought I was having an unusually good week, it seemed that fortune was smiling on me, I had gained an extra day to do more housework, my husband was due to return from overseas two whole days earlier than scheduled, and I had made it to both sessions of my children’s Tae Kwon Do classes on time. It was a good day.
