My So Called Life
All the random ass shit that happens. Read at your own risk.
Day-to-day dispatches from a life that is technically ordinary and somehow never boring. Work problems, relationship observations, aging indignities, boundary violations, and the occasional moment of genuine clarity that makes all the rest of it worth it. The catch-all category for everything that doesn't fit neatly anywhere else — which, honestly, describes most of real life.Summer Doldrums
I am guilty of packing too much busyness into my days. I get all caught up in the “To Do” list that I forget how much fun it is to just take a break. I wish now, as the month of July comes to a close, that I had been able to have more of a break these last few months.
Back to the Bumpy Road
Life after deployment did not return quite back to normal. Things just got more complicated.
Summer is Coming
I have been on a movie binge of late. Maybe I am shaking the dust off and getting back to the movies after the long sabbatical at home? Last night we went to the opening of Iron Man. I enjoyed it, but the kids loved it even more. My youngest son couldn’t keep himself from clapping anytime Iron Man demolished something or looked to be ready to triumph over the bad guys.
Double Dog Dare You and Other Life Lessons
My 6-year-old stuck a green plastic ball into his ear on a dare. The ER couldn't get it out. The ENT did. He never did it again. Parenting is something else.
Go Fly A Kite
It was such a lovely day when we got home that at 4pm, I decided it was a good idea to get the kids back in the truck and drive to the city park and fly our kites.
