Go Fly A Kite

It was such a lovely day when we got home, that at 4pm I decided it was a good idea to get the kids back in the truck and drive to the city park and fly our kites.

I should have taken into consideration how much wind was actually blowing, because what seemed like sufficient breeze here at the house, was actually not enough to fly the kites, and barely kept them aloft. But it was nice to be outside in the sunshine.

The kids complained, not unusual, and my youngest found fault with everything–the kite when it was floating, how come no one helped him hold it, and then when it fell–how come his kite fell and mine was still in the air. It went on and on like that. If I gave him mine to hold, and it fell, I somehow sabotaged him by planning for the breeze to stop.

Blah blah blah…it was pointless to argue and I was determined not to get into a verbal sparring match with him.

Afterwards, we went to this burger joint called Five Guys Burger and Fries…they should really call it Five POUND Burger and Fries. Its my first time going there, but I was unprepared for the gargantuan size of their “regular” bacon cheeseburger. I felt so full I was actually in pain. I should of course not eat to the point of physical pain, but how could I stop? It was so good!! And since eating is one of my few weaknesses, there is no point claiming willpower in that department.

What's on your mind? Shout it out!
