Why You Trippin’?

Should I be worried? I agreed to visit a friend over the coming holiday weekend but now I question the ferocity of the invite… I’m talking about a person who rarely keeps in contact with me since they got in a relationship but now they’ve been blowing up my phone for the last week and change. Why they be trippin’?

I understand that it is part of their modus operandi to keep in constant contact with a pending visit. I guess they’re gun-shy since the last time I said I was going to visit I came down with a serious case of the flu on the day that I was supposed to arrive, and ended up cancelling at the last-minute.

But they aren’t helping my trust issues when they act so weird and needy. I suppose I will just have to wing it and hope for the best. Full disclosure: I am not overly excited to meet their significant other.

Given what I know of them, coupled with my relationship aversion thanks to recent personal events, leaves me less than enthused and a little concerned that I will not really like them and be unable to hide my disdain. Let us hope for the best, that I find them tolerable and I am able to pass the holiday weekend without having to wear my fake face. Cause ain’t nobody got time for that.
